Becoming a model is not an easy task ...

... but if you have what the industry requires and with the correct guidance and advice you can get there. Inspiration can help you with all you need.

There are several different types of modelling that require different types of models, whether you are a male or female. If you meet the requirements to be a model, Inspiration offers you tailored advice and we will guide you on your way to kick start your modelling career.

As we said, there are different types of modelling. To help you choose the most suitable one for you we have prepared a little guide:

Fashion
Requirements: At least 5'8" height, size 8 or 10 and with maximum 34-24-34 inches (86-60-86 cm) with some variations depending on height (the numbers are for chest, waist and hips). As a fashion model you will appear in magazines/newspaper editorials and you might be chosen to be in a catwalk show.

Commercial
Requirements: There are no strict requirements, you will just have to meet the criteria set by the clients. As a commercial model you will be requested to advertise and sell products, whether in TV or print.
Catalogue
Requirements: Again, there are no strict requirements, though you will have to be tall, at least 5'8 and extremely confident. As a catalogue model you will be requested to advertise and sell products shooting a catalogue for a specific company.

Body/Fitness
Requirements: As you might think to be a body/fitness model you have to be a fit, toned body. As a body/fitness model you will be posing for ads showing off your body, or parts of it, like an abs model. Usually you will sell fitness related products or beauty products for the body.

Skills for Life

Reading, writing and number skills are vital in our everyday lives. They give us confidence whether shopping, travelling, talking to others or even reading a newspaper. Most employers and some courses may need you to have a particular level of skill in Maths and English. Obtaining or improving these skills will help you to progress onto other courses, training or employment.
